How to Filter Candidates by Work Experience in Recruitera (Coming Soon)

Learn about Recruitera's upcoming work experience filter — filter candidates by previous company and job title. Includes a workaround using Boolean search until the filter launches.

Recruitera's work experience filter will let you narrow the pipeline by candidates' work history — filtering by company name and job title using "contains" and "does not contain" logic. This filter is coming soon and will be available in the filter sidebar in Table view.

What the work experience filter will include

Once released, the Work Experience filter will support the following fields:

  • Company Name — contains / does not contain

  • Job Title — contains / does not contain

How it will work

Recruitera will pull work experience data from candidate CVs and profiles. Using "contains" logic means searching for "Bank" in Company Name would match candidates who worked at any company with "Bank" in its name — for example "National Bank", "AAIB", or "Banque Misr". The "does not contain" option lets you exclude candidates with specific company or title backgrounds.

💡 This article will be updated with step-by-step instructions as soon as the Work Experience filter is available. In the meantime, use the Boolean search bar to search for company names or job titles within candidate CVs.

Workaround until this filter is available

Use Recruitera's Boolean search bar in Table view to find candidates by work history right now:

  • Search "Vodafone" to find candidates who worked at Vodafone

  • Search "product manager" OR "product owner" to find candidates with either title in their CV

  • Search bank NOT junior to find candidates with banking experience but not at junior level

  • Search ("Oracle" OR "SAP") AND "implementation" to find candidates with ERP implementation experience

Frequently asked questions

Can I filter candidates by previous employer in Recruitera?

The dedicated work experience filter in Recruitera is not yet available — it is currently in development. In the meantime, use the Boolean search bar in Table view to search for a company name directly within candidate CVs. Exact phrase searching with quotes gives you more precise results — for example searching "Procter & Gamble" or "P&G" to find candidates with that specific employer in their work history.

How do I find candidates with a specific job title in Recruitera?

Until the Work Experience filter is released, use the search bar in Table view. Search for the exact title using quotes — for example "senior software engineer" — to find candidates with that title in their CV. Use OR to broaden the search across title variations: "software engineer" OR "software developer" OR "backend developer". The search covers the full text of uploaded CVs so any title in the candidate's experience section is searchable.
