What Recruitera searches across

Recruitera's candidate search covers the following fields simultaneously:

  • Candidate name

  • Email address — and email content sent within Recruitera

  • Phone number

  • CV file content — full text search inside uploaded CV files

  • Tag names — candidate tags applied to their profile

  • Source tag names — how the candidate was sourced

  • Job names and talent pool names

  • Stage names — the pipeline stage they are currently in

💡 CV content search is particularly powerful — if a candidate's CV mentions a specific skill, tool, or company name, searching for that term will surface them even if it is not visible on their profile card.

Search tips for better results

  • Search by partial name — typing "Sar" will return "Sara", "Sarah", "Sarem" and so on

  • Search by email domain — typing "@gmail" surfaces all candidates with Gmail addresses

  • Search by tag — typing "Top Talent" surfaces all candidates with that tag applied

  • Search by skill — typing "React" surfaces candidates whose CV mentions React

  • Use quotes for exact phrases — typing "project manager" returns only candidates where that exact phrase appears

What happens when no results are found

If your search returns no matching candidates, Recruitera shows a no-results state with a tip to check your search term or broaden it. You can also check whether active filters are narrowing results too much — clear filters and search again if needed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I search for a candidate by name in Recruitera?

To search for a candidate by name in Recruitera, go to a job's Pipeline tab, switch to Table view, and type the candidate's name in the search bar. Results update in real time — you do not need to press Enter. Partial name searches work too, so typing the first few letters will show all matching candidates. The search is case-insensitive.

Can I search inside a candidate's CV in Recruitera?

Recruitera supports full-text search inside uploaded CV files. If a candidate's CV contains the keyword you are looking for — a skill, a certification, a company name, or a job title — their profile will appear in the search results. This works even if the keyword does not appear on their Recruitera profile card. Use exact phrase matching with quotes for more precise CV content searches.

Does the search work across all candidates in all jobs or just the current job?

The search bar inside a job's Pipeline tab searches candidates within that specific job only. It does not search across all jobs simultaneously. If you want to search across all candidates in all jobs, use the All Candidates view in Recruitera's CRM module, which has its own search bar covering the full candidate database.
