How to Filter Candidates by Location in Recruitera

Learn how to filter candidates by location in Recruitera — narrow your pipeline by country and area to surface candidates who match your role's geographical requirements.

Recruitera's location filter lets you narrow the candidate pipeline by where candidates are located — filtering by area and country. This is especially useful for roles with location requirements, helping you surface only candidates who match the geographical criteria without manually checking each profile.

Before you start

  • Available to: Admins, Recruiters, and Hiring Managers

  • Where to find it: Pipeline tab → Table view → Filter sidebar → Location

How to filter by location in Recruitera

  1. Open the filter sidebar in Table view.

  2. Expand the Location section.

  3. Use the available dropdowns:

    • Country — select one or more countries

    • Area — select one or more areas or cities within the selected country

The table updates instantly to show only candidates matching your location selection.

💡 Location data in candidate profiles comes from what candidates entered during their application. If a candidate did not provide location information, they will not appear in location-filtered results — filter by No CV or Answered/Not Answered screening questions to handle incomplete profiles separately.

Frequently asked questions

How do I filter candidates by city in Recruitera?

To filter candidates by city in Recruitera, open the filter sidebar in Table view, expand the Location section, and use the Area dropdown to select the city or area you want. You can select multiple areas at once — the table will show candidates from any of the selected areas. Combine with the Country filter to be more precise when filtering across multiple countries with similarly named cities.

Can I filter by multiple countries at the same time in Recruitera?

Recruitera's location filter supports multi-select for both Country and Area — you can select multiple countries and multiple areas simultaneously. Candidates from any of the selected countries or areas will appear in the results. This is useful for roles that are open across a region — for example filtering by Egypt and UAE at the same time to see all candidates from either country.

What if a candidate's location is missing from their profile in Recruitera?

If a candidate did not provide location information when applying, their profile will not appear in location-filtered results. Location data in Recruitera is pulled from what the candidate entered on their application or profile. To find candidates with missing location data, remove the location filter and look for profiles where the location field is blank — then follow up to request the information or update the profile manually.
