How to Set Up Screening Questions in Recruitera

Learn how to add screening questions to a job's application form in Recruitera, including knockout questions.

Screening questions are the questions candidates answer when they apply to a job — useful for pre-qualifying applicants. You set them in the job's Application tab. (These were previously called "application form" questions.) Editing a job needs the manage-jobs permission.

Before you start

  • Required role: a role with the Manage jobs permission

  • Where to find it: Jobs → Edit a job → Application → Screening Questions

How to add screening questions

  1. Edit the job and go to the Application tab.

  2. In the Screening Questions section, add a question and choose its type (for example short answer, single choice, and so on).

  3. Mark questions required as needed, and reorder them.

  4. Save the screening questions. They then appear on the job's application form for candidates to answer.

💡 To reuse a set across jobs, build a Screening Questions template in Settings → Templates and apply it here.

Knockout questions

You can make a screening question a knockout — an answer that automatically disqualifies a candidate. See Knockout Questions for how to set one up.
