Create a Requisition

A requisition is your first step toward opening a new position.

It helps your team document the hiring need, get the right approvals, and keep everything aligned with your manpower plan before posting the job.

Here’s how to create one inside Recruitera 👇

Go to the Requisitions Section

From your left-side menu, navigate to Requisitions.

Here, you’ll see all requisitions listed under their current status — Pending, Approved, or Rejected.

Click “+ Create Requisition” to start a new one.

💡 Tip: You can also create a requisition directly when posting a job by selecting “Create with Requisition.”

Add Basic Job Details

Start by filling in the main information about the position you’re requesting:

  • Job Title — the name of the position.

  • Department — where this role belongs.

Then, start write the position's job description.

Add Employment Details

Next, scroll to more Employment Details.
Here, you’ll define the structure and level of the role:

  • Employment Type — Full-time, Part-time, or Freelance.

  • Expected Salary Range — specify the “from” and “to” amounts

  • Currency — choose the payment currency.

💡 Adding these fields helps the approvers align on salary expectations and headcount budgets.

Add the Hiring Justification

This section is where you choose a reason behind the requisition and explain why the role is needed.

For example: “This role replaces a recently resigned employee” or “This position supports our new marketing campaign in Q1.”

Then click on save.

View the Approval Flow

At the approval flow section, you’ll find a read-only section labeled Approval Flow.

This area shows who will review and approve your requisition based on the department you selected above.

These approvers are automatically defined in your account settings — you won’t need (and can’t) select them manually.

💡 This setup keeps your process consistent and ensures all requisitions follow your company’s approval policy.

Request Approval

Once everything is filled out, click “Request Approval” at the top right.

Your requisition will move from Draft to Pending Approval, and Recruitera will automatically notify each approver in the correct sequence.

Each approver can:

  • Review the request

  • Approve or reject it

  • Leave internal comments for clarification

💡 You’ll get notified when your requisition moves between approval stages or gets approved.

Track Your Requisition Status

After submission, you can always check progress:

  • Draft — not yet submitted for approval.

  • Pending — waiting for action from approvers.

  • Approved — ready to be converted into a job post.

  • Rejected — sent back with comments for revision.

💡 This makes it easy to track where things stand without having to follow up manually.

That’s It!

You’ve successfully created your requisition.

Once approved, you can convert it directly into a job post — all your details (title, location, and description) will automatically carry over.

This keeps your hiring aligned, transparent, and connected from planning to posting.
