You can remove a stage from a job's workflow even after the job is live and has candidates — Recruitera just makes sure no candidate is left without a stage. Editing a job's workflow needs the manage-jobs permission.
Before you start
Required role: a role with the Manage jobs permission
Where to find it: Jobs → Edit a job → Workflow tab
How to delete a stage
On the Workflow tab, open the Active-process stage you want to remove and choose Delete.
If any candidates are in that stage, pick another stage to move them to.
Confirm. The stage is removed and its candidates land in the stage you chose.
💡 Only Active-process stages can be deleted — the Sourcing and Hires stages are fixed. See Reorder or Delete Stages in a Workflow.
Frequently asked questions
Will deleting a stage lose its candidates?
No — you choose where they go before the delete completes, so they simply move to the stage you pick.
Can I delete a Sourcing or Hires stage?
No. Those layers are fixed; only the Active-process stages in between can be removed.
