How to Manage Hiring Roles and Permissions in Recruitera

Learn how hiring roles and permissions work in Recruitera — what each role can do, the permission matrix, and how access is decided.

Hiring roles decide what each member can do in Recruitera. On the Hiring Roles screen you see every role, who holds it, and a permission matrix of exactly what it's allowed to do. This requires a role with permission to manage roles & members (typically Admins).

Before you start

  • Required role: a role with the Manage roles & members permission (typically Admins)

  • Where to find it: Settings → Team & Roles → Hiring Roles

How roles are shown

The left list holds your roles (for example Company Admin, Hiring Manager, Recruiter, Interviewer). Select one to see, on the right:

  • A short description and Members assigned — who currently holds the role. If a member holds more than one role, their effective access is the union of those roles.

  • A permission matrix grouped by area (General, Workflow, and so on), where each permission — such as View Candidates, Move Candidates, Send Emails — is a toggle.

Locked permissions

Some toggles show a padlock and can't be changed. A permission may be locked because it's fixed for that role, not included in your plan, or not yet available. Locked permissions make it clear what a role can and can't be granted.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if someone has two roles?

Their access is the union of both roles — if either role grants a permission, they have it.

Why is a permission greyed out with a padlock?

It's locked — either fixed for that role, not on your plan, or not yet available — so it can't be toggled for this role.
