How to Create a New Hiring Role in Recruitera

Learn how to create a new hiring role in Recruitera — start blank or copy an existing role, then fine-tune permissions.

You can create your own hiring roles to match how your team works. Start from no permissions or copy an existing role, then fine-tune the permission matrix. This requires a role with permission to manage roles & members (typically Admins).

Before you start

  • Required role: a role with the Manage roles & members permission (typically Admins)

  • Where to find it: Settings → Team & Roles → Hiring Roles

How to create a hiring role

  1. Open Settings → Team & Roles → Hiring Roles and click + New Role.

  2. Enter a Role name and an optional Description.

  3. Under Copy permissions from, choose Start blank — no permissions or pick an existing role to copy as a starting point.

  4. Click Add role.

  5. Fine-tune the role's permissions in the matrix, turning each permission on or off as needed.

💡 Copying from a similar role is the fastest way to create one — you only adjust the differences.
