How to View and Manage Your Candidate Blacklist in Recruitera

Learn how to view, search, remove, and manage your candidate blacklist in Recruitera company settings — keep your hiring pipeline clean and enforce your policies consistently.

Recruitera's Blacklist lets Admins view, search, and manage all candidates who have been blocked from applying to your company's jobs — whether they were blacklisted during disqualification, added manually, or imported in bulk. Keeping your blacklist accurate ensures your pipeline stays clean and your hiring policies are enforced consistently. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.

Before you start

  • Required role: Admin only for removing candidates. All roles can view the blacklist.

  • Where to find it: Settings → Company → Organization → Blacklist

How to view your blacklist in Recruitera

  1. Go to Settings → Company → Organization.

  2. Click the Blacklist tab.

  3. The table shows all blacklisted candidates with the following columns:

    • Candidate Name

    • Email

    • Phone Number

    • National ID

    • Blacklist Source — the job name where they were blacklisted, or "Added Manually"

How to search and filter your blacklist

Recruitera supports real-time search and sorting on the Blacklist page to help you find specific candidates quickly:

  • Search — filter by candidate name, email, phone number, or source

  • Sort — A to Z or Z to A across any column

  • Pagination — navigate large blacklists with 10, 25, or 50 rows per page

How to remove a candidate from your blacklist in Recruitera

  1. Go to Settings → Company → Organization → Blacklist.

  2. Find the candidate using the search bar or scroll the list.

  3. Click the Actions menu (⋯) next to their name.

  4. Select Remove.

  5. Confirm the removal in the modal that appears.

Once removed, the candidate can apply to your jobs again through any channel — career page, referral, or manual import.

💡 Removing a candidate from the blacklist does not restore any previously blocked applications. It only allows them to apply going forward from the moment of removal.

How to add a candidate to the blacklist manually

Recruitera also allows you to add candidates to the blacklist directly — without going through a disqualification. This is useful for candidates who should be blocked before they apply, such as former employees or previously flagged individuals.

  1. Go to Settings → Company → Organization → Blacklist.

  2. Click + Add Candidate.

  3. Enter the candidate's name, email, phone number, or national ID.

  4. Click Save.

For bulk additions, click Download Template, fill in the sheet, and upload it back using Upload File.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove a candidate from the blacklist in Recruitera?

To remove a candidate from the blacklist in Recruitera, go to Settings → Company → Organization → Blacklist. Find the candidate using the search bar, click the Actions menu (⋯) next to their name, and select Remove. Confirm the removal. Once removed, the candidate is no longer blocked and can apply to your jobs again through any channel. Only Admin users can remove candidates from the blacklist.

What information is stored in the Recruitera blacklist?

Recruitera stores the following information for each blacklisted candidate: name, email address, phone number, national ID, and the Blacklist Source. The source shows either the name of the job where the candidate was blacklisted during disqualification, or "Added Manually" if they were added directly to the blacklist. This gives your team full context on why each candidate was blocked.

Can I add candidates to the Recruitera blacklist without disqualifying them from a job?

Recruitera allows you to add candidates directly to the blacklist without going through a disqualification. Go to Settings → Company → Organization → Blacklist and click Add Candidate. Enter the candidate's details and save. You can also import multiple candidates at once using the bulk upload template. Candidates added this way will show "Added Manually" as their Blacklist Source.
