Several Company lists in Recruitera can be filled in bulk from a spreadsheet instead of one item at a time — Locations, Departments, Job Titles, and the Candidate Blacklist. They all use the same three-step flow: download the sample template, fill it in, and upload it. This action is available to Admins and Hiring Managers.
Before you start
Required role: Admin or Hiring Manager
Where to find it: the Import button on Settings → Company → Locations, Departments, Job Titles, or Candidate Blacklist
How to bulk import
Open the list you want to fill (Locations, Departments, Job Titles, or Candidate Blacklist) and click Import.
Step 1 — Download the template. Click Download Sample. Each list's template has its own columns (for example, Locations uses Location Name, Country, Governorate, Link).
Fill in the template — one row per item — and keep the column headers unchanged.
Step 2 — Upload the file. Click Upload file, or drag and drop your file into the box. Use a CSV up to 2 MB.
Click Import.
What happens after you upload
Recruitera creates every valid row. If some rows can't be imported, they're listed with a short reason — for example a missing name, an unknown country, or a duplicate that already exists — so you can fix just those rows and upload again. Valid rows from the same file are still created.
Template columns by list
Locations — Location Name, Country, Governorate, Link
Departments — department and sub-department names
Job Titles — job title (and optional department)
Candidate Blacklist — candidate name and identifiers (email, phone, national ID)
Always start from the downloaded sample so your columns match what Recruitera expects.
Frequently asked questions
What file format does Recruitera accept for bulk import?
Upload a CSV file (up to 2 MB). Start from the sample template you download in Step 1 so the columns match exactly.
What happens if some rows have errors?
Valid rows are still created, and any rows that fail are listed with a reason — such as a missing name, an unknown country, or a duplicate. Fix those rows in your file and upload again.
Why is a row rejected as a duplicate?
A row is rejected as a duplicate when the same entry already exists — either already in your account, or listed more than once in the same file. Remove the duplicate and re-upload.
