Recruitera's candidate tag settings let Admins create a library of tags that recruiters can apply to candidates across all jobs. Tags help your team label, filter, and organize candidates by custom criteria — such as skill sets, seniority level, hiring priority, or sourcing notes. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.
Before you start
Required role: Admin only
Where to find it: Settings → Workflow → Candidate Tags
How to add a candidate tag in Recruitera
Go to Settings → Workflow → Candidate Tags.
Click + Add Tag.
Enter the tag name (e.g. "Top Talent", "Pipeline Hold", "Re-engage Q3").
Click Save.
The tag appears immediately in the list and becomes available for recruiters to apply to candidates across all jobs.
💡 Use the search bar to check if a tag already exists before adding a new one — duplicate tags make filtering less reliable and clutter the list.
How candidate tags work across Recruitera
Recruitera allows recruiters to apply tags to individual candidates from their profile. Once applied, tags appear on the candidate card in the pipeline view and can be used as a filter in the All Candidates view — making it easy to surface all candidates with a specific tag across every job. Tags are shared across your entire workspace, so the library you build here is available to your entire team.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create candidate tags in Recruitera settings?
To create candidate tags in Recruitera, go to Settings → Workflow → Candidate Tags and click Add Tag. Enter the tag name and save. The tag is immediately available for all recruiters to apply to candidates across any job. Tags you create here appear in the candidate profile tag picker and in the All Candidates filter panel. What are candidate tags used for in Recruitera?
Candidate tags in Recruitera are custom labels that recruiters apply to individual candidates to categorize them beyond the standard pipeline stages. Common uses include flagging top talent for future roles, marking candidates on hold, identifying re-engagement targets, or labeling candidates by skill set or seniority. Tags are searchable and filterable across the All Candidates view, making them a powerful tool for pipeline management.
Can recruiters create their own candidate tags in Recruitera?
Recruitera restricts tag creation to Admin users only. Recruiters can apply existing tags to candidates from the candidate profile, but they cannot create new tags or delete existing ones. If a recruiter needs a new tag added to the library, they should request it from an Admin who can add it from Settings → Workflow → Candidate Tags.
