Recruitera's questionnaire template settings let Admins update or remove existing questionnaire templates. As your screening needs change — new questions, different formats, or updated salary ranges — keeping your questionnaire library current ensures candidates are always sent the most relevant form at the right stage. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.

How to edit a questionnaire template in Recruitera
Go to Settings → Templates → Questionnaire Templates.
Find the template using the search bar or scroll the list.
Click the Actions menu (⋯) next to the template.
Select Edit.
Update the template — rename it, add or remove questions, reorder questions, or change required settings.
Click Save.
💡 Editing a questionnaire template in Recruitera applies to future uses only. Candidates who already submitted responses to the previous version retain their original answers unchanged in their profile.
How to delete a questionnaire template in Recruitera
Find the template in the list.
Click the Actions menu (⋯) → select Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
💡 Deleting a questionnaire template removes it from the template library. Any pipeline stage automations that used this template will lose their questionnaire action — check active job workflows before deleting and update any references first. Candidate responses already submitted are not deleted.

Does editing a questionnaire template affect responses already submitted in Recruitera?
Recruitera preserves all questionnaire responses submitted before a template edit. Candidates who already completed and submitted the questionnaire retain their original answers in their profile under the Questionnaires tab — those responses are not retroactively changed. The updated template only applies to future questionnaire sends triggered after the edit. This ensures historical screening data stays accurate and reliable.
What happens to pipeline automations if I delete a questionnaire template in Recruitera?
If you delete a questionnaire template that is used in a pipeline stage automation in Recruitera, that automation will lose its questionnaire assignment. When candidates next reach that stage, the questionnaire will not be sent automatically. Review your active job workflows before deleting any questionnaire template and update any pipeline automations to use a replacement template first. Candidate responses already submitted are not affected by the deletion.
Can I add new questions to an existing questionnaire template in Recruitera?
Recruitera allows you to add, remove, and reorder questions in any questionnaire template from the template editor in Settings → Templates → Questionnaire Templates. Click Edit on the template, make your changes using the question builder, and save. The updated question set applies to all future questionnaire sends using that template. Previously submitted responses will not include answers to newly added questions — those appear only on forms sent after the edit.
