How to Edit or Delete a Pipeline Template in Recruitera

Learn how to edit or delete pipeline templates in Recruitera — update your hiring stage sequences as your process evolves without affecting existing jobs.

Recruitera's pipeline template settings let Admins update or remove existing pipeline templates. As your hiring process evolves — new stages, different automations, or restructured workflows — updating your templates ensures every new job starts with the most current process. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.

Before you start

  • Required role: Admin only

  • Where to find it: Settings → Templates → Pipeline Templates

Frequently asked questions

Does editing a pipeline template change existing jobs in Recruitera?

Recruitera applies pipeline template edits to new jobs only. Jobs that were already created using the template retain their original stage structure — editing the template does not retroactively update those jobs. If you need to update the pipeline on an existing job, edit that job's workflow directly. Template edits only affect the structure applied to new jobs going forward.

What happens to jobs if I delete a pipeline template in Recruitera?

Deleting a pipeline template in Recruitera removes it from the template selection list during job creation. Jobs already built using that template are not affected — they retain their full stage configuration, automations, and candidate data exactly as they were. The only consequence of deletion is that the template can no longer be selected for new jobs. Existing jobs using it continue to operate normally.

Can I duplicate a pipeline template in Recruitera instead of editing it?

Recruitera supports duplicating pipeline templates — you can create a copy of an existing template and modify the copy without changing the original. This is useful when you want to create a variation of a template for a specific team or role type while preserving the original as the standard. Find the template in Settings → Templates → Pipeline Templates, click the Actions menu (⋯), and select Duplicate.
