One Number or Two? — Blue Collar vs White Collar Setup Guide

How to decide whether your company needs one or two WhatsApp numbers for hiring — and how to set up each scenario.

Do I need one number or two?

It depends on who you're hiring. Here's how to decide.

One number is fine if

  • You hire for one type of role only — either blue collar or white collar, not both

  • All your hiring communications are in the same language

  • Your hiring volume is manageable through a single channel

Two numbers are recommended if

  • You hire for both blue collar and white collar roles

  • Your blue collar communication needs to be in Arabic and your white collar in English — each number has its own language setting and cannot be changed per conversation

  • You want to keep the two candidate audiences completely separate for reporting and pipeline clarity

What about your existing marketing WhatsApp number?

If your company already uses a WhatsApp number for marketing, customer service, or any other purpose — do not use that number for WhatsApp Hiring. Keep them separate.

Mixing hiring and marketing on one number creates friction: candidates may receive unrelated messages, and your marketing team may accidentally reach job applicants. A dedicated hiring number keeps the experience clean for candidates and easier to manage internally.

How to add a second number

Each number needs to be registered as a separate WhatsApp Business number under your META Business Portfolio. Once added in META, go to Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp Hiring → Connect and repeat the connection process for the second number.
