Auto-distribution assigns a job's incoming candidates to recruiters automatically, based on a rule you choose, so no one has to hand them out. You set it up in the Auto-Distribute Candidates section of the job's Team tab. Editing a job needs the manage-jobs permission.
Before you start
Required role: a role with the Manage jobs permission
Where to find it: Jobs → Edit a job → Team → Auto-Distribute Candidates
How to set up auto-distribution
Edit the job and go to the Team tab. Make sure the recruiters you want are in the Hiring team.
Turn on Auto-Distribute Candidates using its toggle.
Pick a Candidate Distribution Mode (see below).
Optionally set each recruiter's capacity. New candidates are then assigned automatically as they arrive.
The distribution modes
Random Distribution — assigns candidates evenly across the team.
Sequential Distribution — assigns them in order down the recruiter list.
Referral Link — assigns each candidate by the recruiter link they used.
Open Pool (Claim on Open) — leaves candidates unassigned until a recruiter opens one.
💡 When you use capacity limits, at least one recruiter must be set to unlimited so there's always someone to handle overflow.
Frequently asked questions
Which mode should I choose?
Use Random to balance load, Sequential for a set order, Referral Link when recruiters source their own candidates, and Open Pool when you'd rather recruiters claim candidates themselves.
What does capacity do?
Capacity caps how many candidates a recruiter receives, so distribution respects each person's workload — just keep one recruiter unlimited to catch overflow.
