Overview
Recruitera uses AI to automatically extract skills from candidate CVs and add them directly to their profile.
This saves you time on manual data entry and helps you quickly assess candidate fit.
How It Works
Upload a CV to a candidate's profile
AI scans the CV and identifies relevant skills (e.g., "Product Marketing," "Customer Research," "JavaScript")
Skills auto-populate in the candidate's profile under the "Skills" section
You review and edit β add, remove, or adjust skills as needed
Can I Add Skills Manually?
Yes. Even with AI extraction enabled, you can:
Manually add skills by clicking the "+" button in the Skills section
Edit or remove auto-extracted skills
Override AI suggestions entirely
What If the AI Misses a Skill?
The AI is trained to recognize most common skills, but it's not perfect. If it misses something:
Click "+ Add Skill" in the candidate profile
Type the skill manually
Save
We're continuously improving the model, so feedback helps us get better.
Can I Turn Off AI Skill Extraction?
Currently, AI skill extraction runs automatically when you upload a CV. You can always ignore or delete the extracted skills if you prefer to manage them manually.
Does It Work for Non-English CVs?
Right now, AI skill extraction works best with English-language CVs. Support for additional languages is coming soon.

FAQs
Q: Will it extract skills from older CVs I've already uploaded?
No. AI extraction only applies to CVs uploaded after this feature was released. You can re-upload old CVs to trigger extraction.
Q: What if a candidate has duplicate skills?
The AI will try to avoid duplicates, but if you see any, you can manually remove them from the profile.
Q: Can I bulk-extract skills from multiple candidates at once?
Not yet, but we're exploring bulk actions for future updates.
Q: Does this affect candidate privacy or data security?
No. Skill extraction happens within Recruitera's secure infrastructure. No third-party services are used, and candidate data remains private.
