How to Filter Candidates by Source and Origin in Recruitera

Learn how to filter candidates by source tag, origin, and CV presence in Recruitera — identify where candidates came from and focus on the right sourcing channels.

Recruitera's source and origin filters let you narrow the pipeline by where candidates came from — whether that is a specific job board, referral link, manual addition, or your career page. You can also filter by whether a candidate has an uploaded CV or not. These filters help you analyze sourcing effectiveness and focus on candidates from the channels that matter most.

Before you start

  • Available to: Admins, Recruiters, and Hiring Managers

  • Where to find it: Pipeline tab → Table view → Filter sidebar → Source Tag / Candidate Origin / CV

How to filter by source tag

  1. Open the filter sidebar in Table view.

  2. Expand the Source Tag section.

  3. Select one or more source tags — for example "LinkedIn", "Wuzzuf", "Employee Referral".

Multi-select is supported — selecting multiple source tags shows candidates from any of the selected sources.

How to filter by candidate origin

  1. Expand the Candidate Origin section in the filter sidebar.

  2. Select one or more origin types:

    • Career Site — applied directly through your Recruitera career page

    • Referral — applied through a referral link

    • Manual — added manually by a recruiter

    • Referred — referred by an internal team member

How to filter by CV presence

  1. Expand the CV section in the filter sidebar.

  2. Select:

    • Has CV — shows only candidates with an uploaded CV file

    • No CV — shows only candidates without a CV uploaded

💡 Source Tag and Candidate Origin are different: Source Tag is a label manually assigned by the recruiter when adding a candidate (e.g. "LinkedIn Campaign Q2"). Candidate Origin is automatically set by Recruitera based on how the candidate entered the system.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Source Tag and Candidate Origin in Recruitera?

Candidate Origin in Recruitera is automatically assigned by the system based on how a candidate entered the platform — Career Site, Referral, Manual, or Referred. Source Tag is a custom label manually assigned by a recruiter when adding or reviewing a candidate, such as "Wuzzuf", "LinkedIn", or "University Career Fair". Both can be used as filters independently or together to get a precise view of your sourcing channels.

How do I find candidates who applied through my career page in Recruitera?

To find candidates who applied through your career page in Recruitera, open the filter sidebar in Table view and select Candidate Origin = Career Site. This shows all candidates whose application came directly through your Recruitera-powered career page, as opposed to those added manually, referred, or sourced through a referral link.

How do I filter candidates who don't have a CV in Recruitera?

To filter candidates without a CV in Recruitera, open the filter sidebar and select CV = No CV. This surfaces all candidates in the pipeline who were added without an attached CV file — useful for identifying profiles that need follow-up to request a resume before progressing them to the next stage.
