How AI Extracts Links from CVs

Overview

Recruitera uses AI to automatically extract links from candidate CVs and display them in their profile for quick access.

This includes LinkedIn profiles, GitHub repositories, portfolios, personal websites, and any other URLs candidates include in their CVs.

How It Works

  1. Upload a CV to a candidate's profile (PDF, DOCX, or other supported formats)

  2. AI scans the CV and identifies any URLs or links

  3. Links auto-populate in the candidate's profile

  4. All links are clickable for instant access β€” no more digging through PDFs

What Links Are Extracted?

The AI detects and extracts any URL in the CV, including:

  • LinkedIn profiles

  • GitHub repositories

  • Personal websites or portfolios

  • Behance, Dribbble, Medium, etc.

  • Any other web link the candidate includes

What If the AI Misses a Link?

The AI is designed to catch most URLs, but if it misses one, we're continuously improving the model, so feedback helps us get better.

Can I Turn Off AI Link Extraction?

Currently, AI link extraction runs automatically when you upload a CV. You can always ignore the extracted links if you prefer to manage them manually.

Does It Work for Non-English CVs?

Yes. Link extraction works regardless of language, as long as the URL is in a standard format (e.g., https://linkedin.com/in/...).

FAQs

Q: Will it extract links from older CVs I've already uploaded?
No. AI extraction only applies to CVs uploaded after this feature was released. You can re-parse old CVs to trigger extraction.

Q: What if the CV has broken or invalid links?
The AI extracts whatever's in the CV. If a link is broken, you'll see it in the profile and can assess accordingly.

Q: Can I bulk-extract links from multiple candidates at once?
Not yet, but we're exploring bulk actions for future updates.

Q: Does this affect candidate privacy or data security?
No. Parsing happens within Recruitera's secure infrastructure. No third-party services are used, and candidate data remains private.
