Recruitera's job title settings let you rename or remove titles from your company's title library. Keeping this list clean prevents duplicate or outdated titles from appearing during job creation and keeps your reports and filters consistent. This action is available to Admins and Hiring Managers.
Before you start
Required role: Admin or Hiring Manager
Where to find it: Settings → Company → Job Titles
How to edit a job title in Recruitera
Open Settings and, in the Company group, select Job Titles.
Find the title using the search bar, or scroll the list.
Click the edit (pencil) icon on the title's row.
Update the Job title or its Department.
Click Save.
How to delete a job title in Recruitera
On the title's row, click the delete (trash) icon.
In the confirmation dialog, click Delete. Jobs already using this title keep it; it will no longer be suggested when creating a job.
💡 Use the search bar to find near-duplicates (for example, search "Engineer") — keep the preferred title and delete the others to keep your library clean.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to existing jobs if I delete a job title in Recruitera?
Deleting a job title removes it from the suggestions shown during job creation. Jobs already created with that title keep it in their records — they are not changed. To update the title on an existing job, edit that job directly.
Can I rename a job title without affecting existing jobs in Recruitera?
Renaming a title updates the library entry immediately. Jobs already created with the old title keep that name — renaming the library entry does not retroactively update individual job posts. Edit each affected job directly if you need the title changed there too.
How do I find and remove duplicate job titles in Recruitera?
Go to Settings → Company → Job Titles and use the search bar to look for variations (for example, "Engineer"). Identify duplicates or near-duplicates, keep the preferred version, and delete the others with the trash icon. This keeps your title library and your reporting consistent.
