Recruitera's disqualify reasons settings let Admins build a standardized list of reasons that recruiters select when disqualifying a candidate from the pipeline. Having predefined reasons ensures your disqualification data is consistent, reportable, and useful for identifying patterns in your hiring process. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.

How disqualify reasons work across Recruitera
Recruitera requires a disqualification reason whenever a recruiter moves a candidate out of the pipeline. The reasons configured here appear as a dropdown during the disqualification flow. The selected reason is saved on the candidate's profile and is tracked in the Disqualification Report — allowing you to see which stages have the most drop-offs and which reasons are most common across all your jobs.
Frequently asked questions
How do I set up disqualification reasons in Recruitera?
To set up disqualification reasons in Recruitera, go to Settings → Workflow → Disqualify Reasons and click Add Reason. Enter the reason name and save. The reason immediately appears in the disqualification dropdown that recruiters see when moving a candidate out of the pipeline. Build a complete and specific list to make your Disqualification Report data as useful as possible for identifying pipeline drop-off patterns.
Are disqualify reasons required when removing a candidate from the pipeline in Recruitera?

If no reasons have been configured in Settings → Workflow → Disqualify Reasons, recruiters will not be able to complete the disqualification flow. Admins should set up at least a basic set of reasons before the team starts using the pipeline to avoid blocking the disqualification action.
How do disqualify reasons appear in Recruitera reports?
Disqualify reasons in Recruitera are tracked in the Disqualification Report, accessible from the Reports module. The report shows how many candidates were disqualified per reason, per job, and per pipeline stage — helping you identify where candidates drop off most frequently and why. The more specific and standardized your disqualification reasons, the more actionable and granular your report data will be.
