How to Create an Application Form Template in Recruitera

Learn how to create application form templates in Recruitera — build custom candidate screening forms and assign them to specific jobs to collect structured application data.

Recruitera's application form templates let Admins create custom forms that candidates fill out when they apply for a job. Application forms go beyond the standard CV upload — you can collect structured data like years of experience, availability, expected salary, or any custom questions specific to your hiring process. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.

Before you start

  • Required role: Admin only

  • Where to find it: Settings → Templates → Application Forms

How to create an application form in Recruitera

  1. Go to Settings → Templates → Application Forms.

  2. Click + New Application Form.

  3. Enter a Form Name (e.g. "Standard Application", "Tech Roles Application", "Sales Team Application").

  4. Add questions using the question builder. Supported question types:

    • Short Answer — single-line text field

    • Long Answer — multi-line text area

    • Multiple Choice — candidates select one option from a list

    • Yes / No — binary response

    • File Upload — candidates attach a document

    • Date — date picker

  5. Mark questions as Required if candidates must answer before submitting.

  6. Click Save Form.

💡 Recruitera allows you to assign different application forms to different jobs — so a technical role can have a different set of screening questions than a sales or operations role.

How application forms are used in Recruitera

Once created, application forms can be assigned to a job during job setup. When a candidate applies through your career page or a public link, the form appears as part of the application flow. Candidates must complete all required questions before submitting. Their answers are saved directly in their candidate profile under the Applications tab, where recruiters can review them alongside the CV.
