How to Edit or Delete a Source Tag in Recruitera

Learn how to edit or delete source tags in Recruitera's workflow settings — keep your sourcing channel list accurate so your Candidates Report data stays clean.

Recruitera's source tag settings let Admins edit or delete existing source tags to keep your sourcing channel list accurate and current. As your hiring channels evolve — new job boards, partnerships, or campaigns — your source tag library should reflect those changes to keep your Candidates Report data clean. This is an Admin-only action in Recruitera.

Before you start

  • Required role: Admin only

  • Where to find it: Settings → Workflow → Source Tags

Frequently asked questions

What happens to candidates when I delete a source tag in Recruitera?

When you delete a source tag in Recruitera, it is removed from the list of available sources for future candidate additions. Candidates who were already assigned this source tag retain it in their profile records — historical data is not changed. The deleted source will no longer appear in the Candidates Report for new entries, but existing data that used this source will remain in historical report views.

Can I rename a source tag in Recruitera and keep historical report data accurate?

Recruitera allows you to rename source tags at any time from Settings → Workflow → Source Tags. When you rename a source, the new name applies to the tag library and to all candidate profiles that were tagged with the old name — including report data. This means renaming updates your Candidates Report retroactively, which is useful for standardizing inconsistent names but should be done carefully if historical reports rely on the old naming.

How do I consolidate duplicate source tags in Recruitera?

To consolidate duplicate source tags in Recruitera, go to Settings → Workflow → Source Tags and use the search bar to find similar variations — for example "LinkedIn" and "linkedin" or "Referral" and "Employee Referral". Decide which name is the standard, rename the duplicates to match if needed, then delete the extras. For candidates that used the deleted tag, their source data remains in historical records under the old name even after deletion.
