What is bulk send?

Bulk send lets you send an approved WhatsApp template message to a list of candidates at once. It's useful for job alerts, re-engagement campaigns, status updates for a group of candidates, or any situation where you need to reach multiple people at the same time.

How to bulk send a WhatsApp message

  1. Go to the kanban view in any job in Recruitera

  2. Select the candidates you want to message

  3. Click more

  4. Select Send WhatsApp message

  5. Choose an approved template from the list

  6. Preview the message — merge tags will show as placeholders at this stage

  7. Click Send to deliver the message to all selected candidates

Important things to know before bulk sending

  • Only approved templates can be used — you cannot send free-form messages in bulk. Make sure your template is approved before scheduling a bulk send.

  • Message category matters for cost — Marketing templates cost more per message than Utility templates. Use the right category for your use case to avoid unnecessary costs.

  • The 24-hour window does not apply to bulk send — bulk send always uses templates and is always charged at the applicable META rate regardless of prior candidate interactions.

  • Merge tags are filled automatically — each candidate receives a personalized message with their own name, job title, and company name filled in.

Best practices

  • Segment your candidate list carefully before sending — bulk send to the right candidates at the right stage

  • Use Utility templates for pipeline updates and process communications

  • Use Marketing templates only for outreach and job alerts where candidates have not yet applied

  • Review the candidate count before confirming — bulk sends cannot be recalled once sent
